Educational Support Services for Children Experiencing Homelessness
Our mission is to educate children impacted by homelessness by providing
academic support and one-on-one mentoring so children can reach
their full potential.
Educate Kids — Empower Families — End Homelessness
School on Wheels of Massachusetts is a 501(c)3
tax-exempt nonprofit organization that provides:
- After-school one-on-one tutoring for grades K-12
- Summer enrichment programs
- Preschool reading readiness program
- Backpacks and school supplies for the entire year
- Educational resources including eMac computers, workbooks
and reference materials
- Parent workshops focused on helping children be successful
in school and communicating with your child´s teacher.
- Partnering with schools and parents to advocate for appropriate academic services

A 2007 survey by the Massachusetts Department of Education found an estimated 48,000 to 50,000 children experiencing homelessness are enrolled in Massachusetts public schools.
